CHELSEA TO FACE SPURS IN SEMIS

European champions Chelsea will take on London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the last four of the Carabao Cup after they saw off another London team in Brentford in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel made wholesale changes to his starting XI for the Brentford game with an eye on the busy festive period and his team was able to get the job done via a 2-0 win. The Blues scored two times in the last ten minutes to win the game and progress to the last four as far as the Carabao Cup is concerned.

Premier League title contenders Chelsea took the lead in their West London Derby clash at the home of the Bees when home skipper Pontus Jansson put through his own net before Italian national team player Jorginho sealed the win with an 85^th penalty.

The away game at Spurs proved to be a step too far for the Hammers after they were beaten 2-1. Spurs will now take on Chelsea in the last four to determine who will secure a final berth.
