Juan Mata’s future still remains uncertain as the Spanish midfielder still remains unhappy in Chelsea and a number of clubs have shown interest in signing Mata including Manchester United as they are in desperate need of someone that can solve some of the problems and weaknesses shown in this season. It does seem unlikely that if Mourinho does allow and decide on selling Juan Mata, it would be to a direct rival such as Manchester United.
The former coach of Real Madrid has also stated that he needs to keep Mata at Stamford Bridge for the rest of the season in case one of his regular starters loses form or get injured.
‘’The others (Oscar, Willian, Eden Hazard), they are playing very well and the team is playing very well. But we need other players. If the game goes on being 0-0 then Mata is coming into the game as he is a fantastic player’’.
‘’But we need them. We need Mata, we need Andre Schurrle, we need these players as we cannot do it with three. Maybe in February maybe some are not in the best form and Juan is coming at the top of his game’’.
Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid are some other clubs that are interested in signing Juan Mata, from the looks of it Jose Mourinho does not intend on using the Spanish midfielder on nothing more than just a substitute player.
If Juan Mata wants to be featured in the team of Vicente del Bosque for Spain, it would be better off for him to make a switch somewhere he can get guaranteed playing time and staying in Chelsea sees him having limited time to prove what he is capable of doing.
On Guardiola’s 1st season in charge of Bayern Munich, the coach has spent a significant amount of money signing players that can improve the quality of the midfield of the squad and Juan Mata will no doubt be a great option.
