Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain has completed a move to English Premier League outfit Chelsea on a loan deal which will see him remain at Stamford Bridge till the end of the current campaign.

The 31 year old spent the first half of the season on loan at Italian Serie A giants AC Milan but was largely underwhelming, registering a disappointing eight goal tally in as many as 22 games at San Siro.
Speaking to the club’s official website, after completing all paperwork, Higuain revealed how delighted he is to have signed for Chelsea saying they have an iconic stadium and a lot of history.
The former Juventus talisman also opined that moving to the Bridge was a very easy for him as he has always admired the club right from time.
Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri had previously worked with Higuain during their time at Napoli in the 2015/2016 season. The striker was on fire that season, firing on all cylinders.
In fact, he equaled Serie A record goalscoring tally in a single season following his whopping 36 goals that season.
Following the move, Sarri spoke highly of Higuain, stating that he knows the Argentina international is a very strong player and expressed his confidence that the player will set the Premier League alight.
Chelsea have been really poor in front of goal this season, lacking a real cutting edge in front of goal as the likes of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have failed to make their mark at the Bridge.
Next up for the Blues is an FA cup fourth round tie against Sheffield Wednesday on January 27.
