According to recent reports, Chelsea is interested in signing a world class defender in the winter transfer window but more specifically Phillip Lahm of Bayern Munich which seems to be nothing more than a dream if indeed it is a true rumor.
Phillip Lahm has been playing for Bayern Munich since 2005 and has become one of their most iconic players of modern times as he captains the German team in the Bundesliga and also the national team of Germany.
Chelsea however is being linked to many players that might or might not make a move away and into the English club as Mourinho wants to boost the squad and prepare themselves not only for the Premier League but also the Champions League as the competition is getting tougher each season.
Thibaut Courtois is gathering the spotlight of major clubs around the world with stunning performances with Atletico Madrid and one of those clubs interested in signing the Belgium goalkeeper is Barcelona as they have their main goalkeeper Victor Valdes injured and playing in what probably is his last season with the Catalan club, they are on the search of a replacement.
Barcelona are preparing an offer for Courtois but it does not look like either Chelsea or Jose Mourinho are willing to offload what many people are considering to be one of the brightest stars in modern times. Even though Courtois is only 21 years old expectations are high for him which why selling him is not in the plans of Mourinho.
With a 4th place position in the Premier League there is no doubt that Chelsea will at least try to make a move a few players that can boost their squad and continue their charge for the League title. Falcao, Lewandowski and Xabi Alonso are also in the wish list of the Portuguese coach.
